A lap full of slices of joy 🍉
I’m on my way to Durban to help my dad post-stroke, cook his favourite meals and have some difficult conversations. Not an easy trip, so I am gathering slices of joy like a squirrel gathers nuts!
🍉 This sweet gift of a box of Smarties with a little love note from my family.
🍉 Some uninterrupted time midair to journal.
🍉 Half a giant Maeve Binchy novel to devour over the next few days. How did I only just discover Maeve Binchy last month?! She is a delight. I love her.
🍉 The icy cold sparkling water with lemon I just drank.
🍉 The kid walking through the airport with a giant peacock feather stuck in his hat 😆
🍉 Noise cancelling headphones playing my favourite tunes as I float through the airport.
🍉 The absolute miracle that I appear to have nobody sitting next to me on the plane! From a highly sensitive person perspective, this is pure gold.
🍉 And of course, the fact that I’m going to see my sweet dad later today…
