A night away from the kids. Are there six more magical words for parents of young kids? I think not.
In fact, I think I’ve found a recipe for happiness. It includes a delicious, bubbly-soaked lunch with dear friends, an afternoon and evening with nothing to do (Nothing. To. Do! No one to feed or listen to or play with or mediate arguments with or parent!)
Also essential: a cosy couch in front of a warm fire, a 10-hour-sleep, a great book (The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa), a beautiful view, a stroll around a charming town and unlimited adult time to talk, uninterrupted.
Happiness guaranteed.
