A truly meaningful TV show

I have finally watched Fleabag, and it is every bit as glorious as I hoped it would be.

We watched the end of Season 2 last night (Hot Priest! That scene on the bench!) and today I am walking around carrying the characters in a tender place in my heart – the way I do when I’ve just finished a particularly wonderful book.

For those who haven’t seen it, it’s a hilarious, filthy, heart-wrenching, authentic, sad, clever series that follows one woman’s journey through her early 30s. It’s written by and stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is something of a genius in my opinion, and it deals with grief so beautifully.

The main character has lost both her best friend and her mom in the years before we meet her, and so much of what she said and felt rang true for me… Particularly when she speaks about still having so much love for her mom, after she has gone, and not knowing where to put it. Oh! I know that feeling, deeply. ❤️

Such a rare thing to find a TV show that touches so many heartstrings – so much so that they resonate the next day….
