Christmas magic

Christmas magic

Christmas magic achieved ✅

My kids are 8 and 10 and still believe in Santa. It must be our last year (mustn’t it?) although someone said to me last week that believing in Father Christmas is like religion: you know it isn’t true-true, but you choose to believe…

I love the magic of this season so much that I am happy to continue the mystery and magic… to the extent that I secretly bought special Santa wrapping paper just for their Santa gifts, carefully hid any evidence of the chocolate wrappings for the treats in their stockings, conceal my handwriting on Santa’s gifts to them and have pretty much done everything I can think of to keep the magic alive (including deleting this photo off my phone in case they see it and realize that it was taken after Santa came!)

Was my son eavesdropping as we wrapped gifts, and did he hear me tell my husband not to use the silver wrapping paper? Perhaps… and if so, maybe that’s the first chink. But either way, there will be magic and glee in this household at 6am tomorrow morning, so I need to go to bed now!!

I hope you have a beautiful day filled with glimmers, slices of joy, peace, people you love, and chocolate. Happy Christmas, friends! ✨
