A few wonderful reads

As far as I’m concerned, forwarding a link to an article is the highest praise I can heap upon writing these days (aside from waxing lyrical about novels, of course.)

What could be more of a compliment than suggesting that my friends or family – who are all oversubscribed and overstimulated – read something? Here, then, are a few great reads from the last few weeks, and a couple of bloody hilarious ones too.

You May Want to Marry My Husband – life-affirming, heartbreaking and a reminder that life and love are not, in fact, infinite.

To the Thirtysomething Mums – sent this one to allll my mom friends because this is the longest shortest time and sometimes it feels as if it will be like this forever.

Emily Writes’ top tips for getting your baby to sleep – foolishly read this while trying to rock Ella to sleep, and starting snorting from laughing so much…. which woke her up.

100 parenting memes that will keep you laughing for hours – actually made me cry I was laughing so hard (mostly at myself and what parenting has turned me into).

X-Plan: Giving your kids a way out – such an excellent idea for the future, although obviously (as all my friends pointed out) x is a silly letter because so many of us use it as a kiss punctuation x

The Wedding Toast I’ll Never Give – a lovely reminder for all of us in long-term relationships who tend to take our partners ever so slightly for granted (i.e. everyone in a long-term relationship!)

Happy reading!
