A week ago / a lifetime ago…
Let me sing to you of the deep joy of days and days of unstructured time with precious friends who lived together 20 years ago and have only seen each other a handful of times since… (And who, miraculously, still really love each other!)
Of moms set free from childminding and organising and caring for others and planning meals and and and and.
Of silliness and laughter and running jokes and ugly faces and leaping for the camera after maybe one too many wine tastings?
Of Italy! And Italian food! Pasta and pizza and buffalo mozzarella and daily gelato and wine at every meal except breakfast.
Of wandering around ancient medieval walled cities and getting lost and found on cobblestoned streets and chancing on amazing little restaurants filled with Italian people and no tourists and some of the best food we’ve ever tasted.
Of long lazy mornings with nothing to do but sip our tea and coffee and talk… about all the big and little things that life has thrown our way.
Of friendship forged by nothing but love. No shared interests, no obvious commonalities. Just a whole lot of love.
Of literally hundreds of photos to share with our precious families.
Florence. Siena. The Tuscan countryside. What a trip! 5 days crammed full of slices of joy.
