The Sweet Life Chatbot

Sweet Life Chatbot on stage

A year ago, I was on stage in Switzerland, pitching the Sweet Life Chatbot.

“This time next year,” I said, “the Sweet Life Chatbot could be a reality. People with diabetes in South Africa could have diabetes education in their hands.”

Today, that became a reality with the launch of the @sweetlife.org.za Sweet Life Chatbot, and I feel quite overwhelmed. It’s real! It’s live! You can find out all about it here.

Answers to all your questions about diabetes, healthy eating, exercise and mental health, available for all – for free! – on WhatsApp. We launched in English today and isiZulu will launch on World Diabetes Day, 14th November.

The Sweet Life Chatbot is available exclusively through our launch partners @unu_health, who share our vision to empower people with information about their own health. You can download their free (tiny!) app from the App Store or Google Play, and access it from there. They also offer a high tech 50 second face scan that tells you your blood pressure, oxygenation and heart rate – very cool!

We started Sweet Life 13 years ago, on 1 November 2011, to show that it’s possible to live a healthy, happy life with diabetes. And I feel quite teary thinking how far we’ve come!

Please share with anyone you think might be interested… I’d love to know what you think 💙
